Reading: Tues 2 October 8.00 pm. Auditions: Thur 4 October 7.30 pm Production week: 12 to 19 January 2019
John Turner, director, says: The “hero” of this comedy is a rich but very crabby miser, with a son and daughter desperate for some of their father’s cash to promote their love interests. The fact that the master of the house gets his comeuppance and the young lovers get their wishes is all down to the cunning of the working classes – and we, the audience, are winked at and teased as the story is told. The story is – of course – an old one. The characters are drawn from stock we all have met before. All the play needs is an injection of verve and sparkle into the action and it bubbles over with life and humour. Do come and find out more!
